Straight to Treatment
Solstice Counseling and Wellness Center’s work goes beyond our walls. We volunteer year-round in our surrounding communities to help fight the substance use disorder epidemic. That includes the “Straight to Treatment” programs led by the Prosecutor’s offices of Burlington and Gloucester Counties. We partner with Burlington City Police, Mount Holly Police, Deptford Township Police, and Woodbury City Police. These programs allow people struggling with addiction to contact those police departments and be connected to treatment without fear of charges.
Operation Helping Hand
Through Operation Helping Hand, Solstice Counseling staff members volunteer alongside undercover police officers in Gloucester County to offer support and information to at-risk individuals. These outreach events target people who may be struggling with addiction. This work is conducted in partnership with the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s office as well as other counseling organizations.
Overdose Fatality Review Team
Solstice Counseling provides a representative to the Overdose Fatality Review Team, overseen by the Burlington County Department of Human Services and the Burlington County Department of Health. The team performs confidential reviews of overdose deaths in the county, and the contributing circumstances surrounding them, all with the goal of reducing opioid deaths.
Internships
Education plays a vital role in the work we do at Solstice Counseling. We believe in training motivated students who are pursuing a career in substance use disorder counseling, mental health counseling, or co-occurring counseling. To that end, we have established internship programs with Rowan University, Temple University, Rider University, Monmouth University, Rutgers University, Liberty University, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the New Jersey Prevention Network. Our partnerships vary with each school; please use the “contact us” form on the “contact” page of our website to find out if you are eligible for an internship with Solstice Counseling.
